Derbigum provides customized innovative and sustainable solutions for roofs and buildings that save both energy and costs, produce renewable energy and thereby decrease buildings’ carbon footprint.
Derbigum’s roofing is made in part from recycled roofs. Derbigum has invested considerably in a recycling process for old roofing that significantly cuts down on waste. Each year the company recycles about 4000 tons of bitumen. That is more than a quarter of the required resources.
Yet take-back logistics remain a challenge. Derbigum cooperates with demolition firms and waste collectors to get the resources to their plant.
Derbigum also pioneered a non-bituminous vegetal roofing membrane composed of vegetable oils and pine resin called Derbipure. It’s the world’s first vegetal roofing membrane. Thanks to Derbipure’s pH neutral coating, rainwater can be drained and return to nature without any chemical pollution whatsoever.
